WINTHROP, Mass. - After another strong week on the course, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) honored
Cooper Bertrand (Caledon, Ont.) of the Norwich University men's golf team as its Golfer of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Bertrand followed up his second-place finish at St. Lawrence last week with two more finishes in the top two this week. On Wednesday, he took first place individually, shooting -2, helping Norwich take first place in the Tony Mariano Invitational.
He followed that up with a sensational performance over the weekend at the Duke Nelson Invitational, where he climbed up the leaderboard seven spots on the second day of competition by going -1 on the day, cementing a tied-for-second-place finish individually. This score helped Norwich get to a tie for 14
th place as a team, their highest finish ever at the Duke Nelson Invitational.
This season marks back-to-back years where Bertrand has received GNAC Golfer of the Week plaudits, after earning laurels on Sept. 30, 2024, and Oct. 14, 2024.
Bertrand will look to continue his strong junior campaign when the Cadets compete in the Battle for Boston Invitational hosted by Suffolk University on Friday afternoon and the two-day Vermont State University Castleton Invitational over the weekend.
