MARSHFIELD, Mass.- As part of their end-of-season honors, the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) recognized senior defensive lineman
Maddox Reed (Spring Hill, Tenn.) as part of their All-Sportsmanship Team.
"
Maddox Reed is one of the highest character student-athletes I have had the privilege to coach," Head Coach
Bill Russell said. "He is selfless, tirelessly serves the campus community, and enriches the experience of everyone he comes into contact with. I am proud of him and excited to watch his career unfold in the Marine Corps."
In addition to his gentlemanly behavior, Reed concluded his four-year playing career as the team leader in sacks this season (5.5-24). With those numbers, he passed Joe Gumbrewicz '11 for the program record for the most sacks in a career since 2008 with 14.5-60.
It was also a record-breaking season for sophomore middle linebacker
Ben Primich (Yardley, Pa.), whose 77 assisted tackles shattered the previous mark of 56 by Zev Motew '21 in 2021. He also broke Motew's total tackles in a season program record with 127 in his first year as a full-time starter.
Norwich concluded its 2025 season on Nov. 14 at MIT and finished with an improved record compared to the previous season.
