NORTHFIELD, Vt.- With two squads seeking their first victory of the season, the Norwich Men's Soccer team took to the Sabine Field turf against Anna Maria on Homecoming weekend. However, both sides came up empty as the game ended in a scoreless draw.
Possession was even in the first half, with the shots favoring the Cadets 3-2. Norwich created several opportunities in the box area but were ruled offsides. Late in the half, the Amcats notched the first shot on goal in the game which was the only save for
Nicolas Lanza (Cocoa Beach, Fla.).
In the second half, the Cadets held the edge over Anna Maria outshooting them 6-0 but Amcat keeper Valter Santiago made all four saves, including two on free kicks taken by
Nathan Statires (Hampton, N.H.). Norwich will return to action Wednesday evening when they travel to Regis for a 4:30 kickoff.
