BABSON PARK, MASS. – Norwich University's
men's and women's swimming and diving teams combined to
gather 11 event top finishes in dual action against Babson Jan.

Despite falling 147-125 on the men's side and 130-99 on
the women's side, the Cadets receive strong individual
efforts. Senior Felicia Jones (Sherburne, N.Y.) was at the head of
the class with wins in the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard
intermediate.
Jones' afternoon was part of a solid team performance from
the Maroon and Gold's women's squad. Freshman Daniella
Vitale (North Smithfield, R.I.) won the 100-yard backstroke,
sophomore Victoria Sabel (Plainville, Conn.) claimed the 500-yard
freestyle, and senior Janice Knoop (Cicero, N.Y.) won the 50-yard
butterfly to go along with Jones' double and a victory in the
200-yard freestyle relay.
Coach Laura Dunn's men's team picked up event
victories from senior Mike Zemanek (Voorheesville, N.Y.) in the
200-yard freestyle, sophomore Brandon Kelly (Centreville, Md.) in
the 100-yard butterfly, sophomore Patrick Bowden (Cumberland, Me.)
in the 200-yard intermediate, and freshman Lance Webster (Windham,
Me.) in the 1000-yard freestyle. The Cadets also closed the dual by
winning the 200-yard freestyle.
Norwich resumes its dual campaign by hosting Elms College of
Massachusetts in its home finale Saturday, Jan. 21. Start time is 1
p.m. at Goodyear Pool.
