Nico Leonard M'27Â enters his first year as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Norwich University in 2026-27, after serving the 2025-26 season as the Athletic Communications Specialist. While in this position he will also be completing his MBA with a concentration in Organizational Leadership.
Leonard earned a promotion to Assistant Director after contributing significantly to the Department of Athletic Communications' operations during 2025-26, helping oversee and supporting game-day operations, digital content, statistics, press releases, and live broadcasts.
He primarily specializes in multimedia production ranging from photography for all the athletic programs, as well as video, and social media content for teams on a day to day basis.
Leonard completed his undergraduate studies at Utica University where he was captain of the Men’s Soccer team, General Manager for the campus television studio, a Creative Athletics Photographer, and a Live Camera Operator for his favorite NHL team, the New Jersey Devils’ AHL affiliate, Utica Comets. He graduated cum laude with a Communications and Media degree and a concentration in Creative Studies.
He has had quite a few memorable moments in his career so far. He shot photos and hosted an on-air pregame, intermission, and postgame show for the NCAA Division III Frozen Four as well as shooting freelance photography for the New York Red Bulls.
Leonard grew up on Long Beach Island, NJ and found his deep passion for photography through the sights, sounds, and surf on the Island.
