John Roberts enters his second season at the helm of the Norwich University men's golf program in 2026. was named head coach of the Norwich University men's golf program in 2025. He brings a diverse coaching and playing background across multiple sports to the Cadets' program, joining Norwich after a successful season on the men’s ice hockey coaching staff at Stevenson University.
Roberts enjoyed a successful first season, leading the Cadets to a fourth-place finish at the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships while two-sport standout Cooper Bertrand became Norwich's first-ever GNAC Golfer of the Year recipient.
A native of Lansdale, Pa., Roberts has a long history in golf, both as a player and instructor. He competed growing up at Pinecrest Country Club and has held roles at several Wisconsin-based clubs, including youth instruction, course management, and groundskeeping.
In addition to his golf responsibilities, Roberts will also serve as an assistant coach for the men’s ice hockey team and goaltending coach for both the men’s and women’s programs.
Roberts holds a bachelor's degree from St. Norbert College, where he was a goaltender for three seasons after beginning his collegiate career at Division I Northern Michigan. He later joined the staff at Stevenson under Norwich alum Dominick Dawes '04, helping guide the Mustangs to their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in 2025.
