NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University men's swimming & diving team could not be stopped on Saturday afternoon, taking down the University of Saint Joseph, 203-43, in the third-straight weekend of action in Goodyear Pool.
The Cadets proved victorious in all 14 events, with
Adrian Riendeau (Ridgecrest, Calif.) pacing the effort on three individual victories while also competing on the first-place 800 freestyle relay team to complete the day's events.
In addition to Riendeau, several Cadet swimmers tallied multiple solo wins, as
Will Thompson (Downingtown, Pa.), Nikita Ponomarenko (Mariupol, Ukraine), Drew Bylow (Monroe, Mich.), and
Arthur Abrams (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) all claimed at least two wins apiece. Bylow, Thompson, and Abrams, along with
Kristian Adlianitski (Cheshire, Conn.), comprised the Cadets' 400 medley relay team that kicked off the day with a first-place 3:45.68 effort.
Adlianitski immediately returned to the pool in the ensuing event, capturing the 1650 freestyle in 17:47.55 to initiate Norwich's accumulation of individual tallies. Ponomarenko and Riendeau followed shortly after, as the Cadets proceeded to repeat winners throughout the day.
New faces appeared for the Cadets in the closing 800 medley relay, as Riendeau was joined by
Noah Lowe (Latham, N.Y.), Joshua Kelly (Stowe, Vt.), and
Michael Carpenter (Gloversville, N.Y.) en route to the quadruplet swimming a 3:23.56 time, giving the Cadets their 14th and final victory.
