WEST HARTFORD, Conn.- For their second straight road contest, the Norwich Women's Soccer team continued Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play with a visit to the University of Saint Joseph Saturday afternoon.
After the Cadets held the edge early on, the Blue Jays would force
Michaela Dubey (Belchertown, Mass.) to come up with three saves in a nine-minute span. After a chance on the counterattack by
Kat Probst (Gouverneur, N.Y.) was shut down, USJ would go back on the attack and jump in front in the 32
nd minute.
The Blue Jays would continue to hold the territorial edge early in the second half, eventually leading to their second goal in the 64
th minute. Looking to claw back into the contest, Norwich pressed the attack with chances for Probst,
Abby Bruce (Peru, N.Y.) and
Lily Briggs (Fair Haven, Vt.) that were all stopped on the doorstep.
After their brief road trip, the Cadets will return home Wednesday Oct. 16 when they host Colby-Sawyer at 7 PM where they will celebrate Senior Day.
