KEENE, N.H. - The Norwich University men's swimming & diving team kicked off the 2024-25 season in resounding fashion, as six swimmers took 10 of the top spots and
Kristian Adlianitski (Cheshire, Conn.) collected the individual title at the Keene State Sprint Pentathlon on Saturday afternoon.
The Sprint Pentathlon was composed of five swimming events, including the 50 fly, 50 backstroke, 50 breaststroke, 50 free, and 100 IM, with each swimmers' times added up into a total time that determined their final ranking. In addition, 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and diving events also took place.
Adlianitski posted a 2:40.71 final time across all five events, topping second-place and teammate
Adrian Riendeau (Ridgecrest, Calif.)'s 2:42.80 effort.
The Cadets continued to come in quick succession, as
Will Thompson (Downingtown, Pa.),
Drew Bylow (Monroe, Mich.), and
Arthur Abrams (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) captured fourth, fifth, and sixth-place, respectively.
Andrew Clark (Acworth, Ga.) rounded out the top 10, checking in at 10th on a 2:56.56 total time.
Norwich also took first place in the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay. Bylow, Thompson, Riendeau, and Adlianitski posted a 1:39.96 time in the medley relay, while the same grouping, in a different order, finished in 1:31.49 in the freestyle.
MEN'S LEADERS:
The Cadets will return to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 26, traveling to Bristol, R.I. for the Roger Williams Invitational at 11:00 a.m. Norwich then returns home for their home opener at Goodyear Pool, hosting Husson University and the University of Maine on Saturday, Nov. 2.
