WALTHAM, Mass.- In their penultimate conference matchup of the regular season, Norwich Men's Rugby put on an impressive performance by defeating Bentley 85-7.
Â
The Cadet onslaught began almost immediately, as they reached the scoresheet three times in the first ten minutes, beginning with a strong run up the middle by
Kurt Sayers within the first two minutes. That was quickly followed by back-to-back tries by
Jeff Pappalardo and
Marius Edwards with
Ben Steen converting on all three attempts. The scoring did not stop there, as
Logan Perry extended the Norwich lead further with two consecutive tries. The score at halftime was 45-0 with
Anthony Kowalski adding another try, in addition to a second score for Sayers.
Â
The Dirt Dogs kept their foot on the gas pedal in the second half, as
Kyle Krebs scored a try early out of the break. The Falcons eventually would break the shutout off a Cadet turnover, but Norwich quickly regained momentum putting up five more tries, with three being converted.
Â
Norwich will round out the regular season portion of their schedule on Oct 28 when they travel to Boston University for a 6:30 PM kickoff.
