CASTLETON, Vt. - The Norwich women's soccer team suffered a 7-0 setback against Castleton in non-conference action at Dave Wolk Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Spartans struck early and never looked back, as Brytney Moore drained the first of back-to-back goals in the 13th minute into the far corner.  Castleton was electric, tallying 30 total shots with 20 on goal for the game.

Despite the onslaught, Rebecca Karis (Fayetteville, N.C.) stood steadfast in goal, racking up 13 saves in 72 and a half minutes of action.  The Cadets picked up the pace offensively in the closing 45 minutes with four shots, but were unable to get two attempts on goal from Isabel Doherty (Quincy, Mass.) past Alex Benfatti.

Moore finished with two goals for Castleton to go with one assist, while five other Spartans tallied goals.

The Cadets will have a full week away from action, returning to play next Wednesday, Sep. 14, to kick off Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) competition at the University of St. Joseph (Conn.).  Game time in West Hartford is set for 6 p.m.
