NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University Women's Soccer team earned their first conference win of the season Wednesday night against Rivier by a score of 4-1. The victory snapped a five game losing streak along with an eight game winless streak.
The Cadets were driven offensively by freshman
Bella Roy (Weare, N.H.) who scored the first two goals of her collegiate career. The first, and eventual game winner, came in the 29
th minute when Roy was the last Norwich attacker to touch the ball before the Rivier defender knocked the ball into her own net. Roy's second came in the 63
rd minute to seal the deal. Senior
Isabel Doherty (Quincy, Mass.) and sophomore
Antonia Pellon (Pownal, Vt.) also contributed goals.
Norwich looks to build on their newfound momentum Saturday night when they travel to Johnson & Wales. Kickoff is 6 PM.
