Box Score NASHUA, N.H. – The Norwich University women's soccer team won its second-straight game with a 2-0 shutout victory over Rivier University on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomores Jillian Patria (Rindge, N.H.) and Sarah Rucci (West Boylston, Mass.) each scored their first collegiate goals to lead the Cadets to the win.
Senior goalkeeper Kim Watt (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) stopped both shots she faced to pick up her second career shutout.
Norwich (2-2, 1-2 GNAC) picked up a huge three points in the league standings with the win as the Cadets continue to search for their first playoff appearance since 2011.
Patria scored in the seventh minute on a penalty kick to give the Cadets a 1-0 lead. Rucci scored an unassisted goal in the 76th minute to cap the scoring.
Norwich outshot Rivier 12-3 in the game.
The Cadets return home to Sabine Field at Haynes Family Stadium for two league matchups. NU hosts Lasell at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday and then takes on Johnson & Wales at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
