JOHNSON, Vt.- The Norwich University women's volleyball team closed out its truncated 2020-21 season with a 3-1 victory over Northern Vermont University-Johnson on Friday evening in Carter Gymnasium.

The Cadets easily took the first two sets of the evening by scores of 25-12 and 25-15 before being edged out in the third set by a score of 26-24. Norwich rallied back in the final set with a score of 25-19 to secure the match.

With the win, the Cadets finish out the season with a record of 2-0 while the Badgers fall to 1-4 on the year. 

Norwich was led offensively by senior Kathryn Farnum (North Andover, Mass.) and sophomore Ana Lopez (Laredo, Texas) who each recorded a match-high 11 kills with Farnum also tacking on 10 digs and Lopez adding four service aces. Those seven kills marked a career-high for Lopez. Junior Addison Hall (Apple Valley Calif.) supported the offense with an efficient nine kills on just 14 attacks sporting a 0.500 hitting percentage. She also contributed three total blocks including two solo efforts. Sophomore Sarah Farnum (North Andover, Mass.) orchestrated the offense with 23 assists while Laura Farnum (North Andover, Mass.) led the team in digs with 14.

Norwich is looking forward to the 2021 fall season with the hopes of returning to a normalized schedule with its full roster intact.
