NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University men's soccer team stretched its winning streak to five straight with a 1-0 victory over Colby-Sawyer College on Sunday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Junior Joseph Thongsythavong (Salem, Mass.) scored for the fifth straight game to provide the game's only offense with his 12th goal of the season to lead the Cadets to the victory.

Norwich (8-2, 6-1 GNAC) solidifed its hold on third place in the GNAC standings with the victory as the Cadets look to position themselves for the GNAC postseason tournament.

Thongsythavong scored in the third minute off an assist from Brayan Ramirez (Scottsdale, Ariz.) to bring his team-leading point total to 29 on the season.

Junior goalkeeper Robert Wagenseller (Poway, Calif.) stopped all three shots he faced to earn his fifth shutout of the season and 10th of his career.

Norwich will host Anna Maria on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in another GNAC matchup.
