Box Score STANDISH, Maine - The Norwich University women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Wednesday night at the SJC Athletic Complex in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
Despite 10 saves from freshman goalkeeper Katie Bishop-Manning (New York, N.Y.), the Cadets were unable to keep pace with the Monks as they lost their third straight match.
Norwich (1-5, 1-3 GNAC) fell behind exactly two minutes into the match with Kenzie Murphy scoring off an assist from Colleen Sheehan. The Monks added a second goal less than two minutes into the second half with Sarah Comtois scoring an unassisted goal to make it 2-0 Saint Joseph's (Maine).
Norwich was outshot 27-3. Freshman Sydney Rocheville (Salem, Mass.) led the Cadets with two shots, while Mehgan McMullen (Northfield, Vt.) had one. The Monks had nine corner kicks to the Cadets' zero.
Norwich will look to get back on track when it hosts Emmanuel on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. in league action. The Cadets currently sit tied for 10th in the GNAC standings with the top eight making the postseason tournament.
