Box Score WEST HARTFORD, CONN. - The Norwich University women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to the Univ. of St. Joseph (Conn.) on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
Despite seven saves from freshman goalkeeper Katie Bishop-Manning (New York, N.Y), the Cadets were unable to stick with USJ, who scored in the 11th minute and then added two second-half goals to cruise to the 3-0 victory. The Blue Jays (4-0-1, 3-0-0 GNAC) got two goals from Amanda Ghent and another from Jessica Spezzano in the victory.
Norwich (1-4, 1-2 GNAC) was outshot 17-12 in the game. Fifth-year senior Mehgan McMullen (Northfield, Vt.) led Norwich with four shots in the game.
The Cadets had six corner kicks to USJ's four.
Norwich will look to rebound on Wednesday when it travels to Saint Joseph's (Maine) for another GNAC league game at 6:30 p.m.
