Box Score PAXTON, Mass. – Senior midfielder Baylie Lamarre (Tyngsboro, Mass.) scored in the 60th minute to lift the Norwich University women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over the Anna Maria College AMCATS on Wednesday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
Lamarre's team-leading third tally of the season would be all the offense Norwich (1-10-0, 1-5-0 GNAC) would need en route to its first victory of the 2013 season. Lamarre won a chase to a loose ball down the left wing and launched a high shot into the top right corner of the net to beat Anna Maria keeper Teresa Ryan.
Norwich outshot Anna Maria 19-4 and had five corner kicks to the AMCATS' zero. Senior goalkeeper Allison Hull (South Royalton, Vt.) made two saves to pick up the clean sheet for Norwich and her first victory of the season. Ryan made nine saves for Anna Maria (4-7-1, 0-6-0 GNAC) in the loss.
Norwich will look to keep its momentum rolling on Saturday when it travels down to Suffolk for another GNAC matchup with the Rams slated to kickoff at 5 p.m.
