Box Score STANDISH, Maine – The Norwich women's soccer team stayed unbeaten on the 2011 season with a 1-1 draw at Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Saturday afternoon in its Great Northeast Athletic Conference opener.
Junior forward Brittany Casey tallied her fourth goal in the last two games to tie the game up in the 34th minute after Saint Joseph's (Maine) opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a goal from Danielle Daigle.
However, neither side was able to score again the rest of the game, including in the extra 30-minute overtime session.
Norwich (2-0-1, 0-0-1 GNAC) outshot Saint Joseph's (Maine) 18-11.
Sophomore goalkeeper Liz Chapdelaine remained unbeaten after posting seven saves on eight shots on net. Jacqueline Lorenzen made six saves on seven shots on net for Saint Joseph's (Maine).
Norwich returns home on Wednesday, Sept. 14 to host Emmanuel (Mass.) in another GNAC matchup between two playoff teams from a year ago.
