NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich women's volleyball team returned to its winning ways on Monday night as the Cadets downed Simmons College 3-1 in GNAC action at Andrews Hall.

The Cadets won by scores of 24-26, 25-10, 25-22, and 26-24.

Molly Rice returned to the Norwich starting lineup after missing both matches on Saturday and helped the Cadets rally to win the final three sets after dropping the first.

The senior setter recorded 33 assists and nine digs for the Cadets.

Senior outside hitter Thea Evans had 13 kills and 12 digs, while April Byllaardt added 13 kills as well.

Ivana Batur rounded out the Cadets' statistical leaders with four service aces and four blocks.

Norwich (14-7, 4-2 GNAC) finished 4-2 over its six-match home stand.

The Cadets travel to Johnson State on Thursday before returning to Andrews Hall on Saturday to take on St. Joseph's (Me.) in their second to last home match of 2010.
