NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Norwich University
volleyball team extended its win streak to five in a row on
Saturday afternoon, defeating GNAC foe Albertus Magnus, 3-0. The
Cadets had little trouble earning their 11th win of the season,
winning by set scores of 25-5, 25-11 and 25-10.
Norwich (11-1, 4-1 GNAC) was led by junior Lisset Magdaleno, who
smacked down a team-high nine kills and added 10 digs and two
blocks. Sophomore Molly Rice chipped in 20 assists, four digs, two
service aces and one block.
Freshman Brittany Palmer added four service aces and four digs,
while fellow freshman Abby Windley posted five kills and two
service aces. Sophomore Alicia Chamness had five kills, while
freshman April Byllaardt added six service aces, five kills and two
blocks.
Norwich returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 4, when the Cadets
travel to Newton, Mass., to battle on GNAC rival Lasell at 12 p.m.
