NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University volleyball team won its fifth straight on Thursday evening, defeating in-state rival Lyndon State, 3-0, at Andrews Hall. The Cadets had won by scores of 25-6, 25-12 and 25-11.

Junior Lisset Magdaleno paced the Cadets' attack with a team-high 17 kills, four service aces and two blocks. Sophomore Molly Rice led the team with 25 assists, seven digs and seven service aces. Freshman Brittany Palmer chipped in with six kills, while sophomore Alicia Chamness contributed five kills.

Norwich (5-0) returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 13, when the Cadets begin their GNAC schedule with a pair of matches. NU will face St. Joseph's (Maine) and Emmanuel on Saturday, with both matches to be hosted by St. Joe's in Standish, Maine.
