POULTNEY, Vt. - Tyler Woods scored four of his
game-high seven goals during Norwich's 10-goal first quarter as the
Cadets defeated Green Mountain College, 18-4, in men's lacrosse
action on Wednesday.
It marked the first win of the season for the Cadets, who
improve to 1-5 on the year. Green Mountain, meanwhile, falls to 1-6
with the loss.
Kyle Marzeoti netted three of his four goals during the first
quarter explosion as Norwich built a commanding 10-1 lead and never
looked back.
Scott Pearce chipped in four goals, and Drew Caplin added three
for NU, which had scored a total of 16 goals in its first five
games combined.
C.J. Hamilton assisted on seven of the team's 18 tallies, while
Caplin and Marzeoti each contributed two assists apiece. Kevin
Young, Charles Rankie and John Lighthall rounded out the scoring
for the Cadets as each player dished out one assist apiece.
Nick Bakos and Nathan Huckins split time in goal, which each
keeper allowing a pair of goals.
Norwich returns to action on Saturday, April 12, when the Cadets
are slated to host in-state rival Green Mountain College at 4 p.m.
