Andrews Gym
Andrews Gym, located within the confines of Andrews Hall, serves as the esteemed gymnasium for Norwich University. It is the designated arena for the university's women's volleyball team and the men's and women's basketball teams, playing a pivotal role in supporting the athletic pursuits of these groups.
In a recent enhancement effort, the gymnasium has undergone significant renovations to elevate its facilities to a higher standard of excellence. These renovations included a comprehensive resurfacing of the gym floor to improve the athletes' performance and safety. Additionally, a modern, state-of-the-art scoreboard table has been installed. These upgrades enhance the experience for players and fans and underscore Norwich University's commitment to providing top-tier athletic facilities.
The gym's namesake, Paul Revere Andrews, achieved the distinction of graduating cum laude from Norwich in 1930. His legacy extended beyond his alma mater as he assumed leadership roles, serving as the president and chairman of the board of Prentice Hall in 1965 and 1971, respectively.
Recognized for his contributions, Andrews was appointed as a Norwich trustee in 1958 and later served as the general chairman of the Norwich University Development Program in 1976.
Andrews Hall, completed in 1980, was dedicated in his honor on May 7, 1982.
